About
Davita Aundréa has been passionate about photography since she picked up her first camera as a child. In her freshmen year of boarding school, she got her real first lesson in photography and began her journey on a 35mm film manual camera. She learned the art and chemistry of developing her own negatives and prints. Since that moment, photography has been her true love.
She graduated from Lafayette College in 2005 with a degree in Studio Art. At Lafayette, she was a TA for the one photography class offered on campus during her Junior and Senior years (even though she never took the class). Davita was able to showcase her work in multiple gallery shows, small exhibits and art fairs on the Lafayette campus and in her hometown of West Orange, NJ.
Since her move to NYC, Davita has been exploring greater creative outlets while further developing her photography skills. Currently her cameras of choice are her iPhone 11 Pro and Canon T5i. Her main focus is Fashion/Beauty and Portraiture. She loves using natural lighting and the colorful backgrounds she finds all over Manhattan and Brooklyn. Davita also enjoys taking photos of the people she meets and capturing their individual styles and personalities.
Recently she has had work featured in New York Magazine’s The Cut, Purple Fashion, Coeval Magazine, and in multiple Amehl NYC’s Look-books. Davita also had the opportunity to have her work displayed for 3 month exhibits at both Sanofi Pasteur in Swiftwater, PA and Mandolino Ristorante Pizzeria in NYC.
Davita had the cover images and an editorial spread she styled and creative directed for the Spring Summer 2020 issue of MODA MANTRA. This February 5th-9th, Davita will be exhibiting her photo “Chocolat en Blanc” at Harlem Fashion Week’s The Black Experience through Fashion exhibit along with 19 other selected photographers. She was a go-to photographer for NYC Street Fashion Week, Amehl NYC’s fashion shows, and Pew Pew NYC. In September 2022, Davita became part of the official Diner En Blanc NYC photography team. She is looking forward to new and exciting opportunities in 2023.
